Here is your schedule of activities for Swim Race weekend 2008

·     Anchor Dive Center offers kayaking trips to you and your families at a reduced price including snack and water. For more information or reservations, please call Laurie at 340-778-1522.

·     Buck Island trips from Caribbean Sea Adventures are available on either Friday or Saturday from 9:00 - 1:00 p.m. Call 340-773-2628 and reserve your seat; space is limited. A special rate of $35 will be offered for swimmers. Special note: On the return trip, the Buck Island boat will follow the race route back to harbor.

·     Box lunches are available for purchase and must be ordered 24 hours in advance.  Forms with prices can be obtained from the front desk or concierge.

·     Please see the concierge to sign up for a shuttle to town on Friday and Saturday. These will be a busy days and sign up is recommended.

Saturday, October 18, 2008:

·     2:30 - 4:30 p.m. - Race Bag Pick Up: Brass Parrot, The Buccaneer

·     5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Cocktail Party @ the Sugar Mill, The Buccaneer for all race participants and their families. Listen to Steel Pan Music and see/meet the other race participants.

·     6:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Mandatory Race talk in the Brass Parrot, The Buccaneer

·         There will be a pre race dinner @ the Mermaid Restaurant, The Buccaneer. This meal is included in The Buccaneer package but other swimmers not staying at The Buccaneer may purchase tickets to the dinner at the door.

Sunday, October 19, 2008:

·     6:00 a.m. – Taxis leave Mermaid parking lot and lobby of The Buccaneer for participants in the 5 mile swim.

·     6:10 a.m. – Race marking begins at Green Cay Marina (enter guard gate and proceed straight ahead – dock A is to the right of The Galleon restaurant) for swimmers in the 5 mile swim.

·     Bring a bag, if you wish, (no plastic please!) for items you will leave behind on the boat. The bags will be dropped at the entrance to the Mermaid Restaurant.

·     6:30 a.m. – Boats leave Green Cay Marina, you must be on board to participate in the five mile swim !

·     7:30 a.m. – 5 mile race start from Buck Island

·     7:45 a.m. – Swimmers participating in the 2 mile gather at Mermaid Beach near beach shack for race marking, last minute instructions

·     8:15 a.m. – 2 mile race begins from Mermaid Beach

·     9:00 a.m. – Family & Friends invited to gather at Mermaid Beach to cheer swimmers at the finish line.

·     12:00 p.m.- Awards Lunch begins at The Mermaid Restaurant

·     1:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony begins, Mermaid Restaurant
